Dr Who audio CD stories

These exciting stories are narrated by four Doctors – Matt Smith, David Tennant, Colin Baker and Tom Baker Doctors and ones story features the Doctor’s arch enemy, the Daleks. So being a big Dr Who fan I decided to listen to them again. Stories are

this BBC Radio 4 adventure from 1985. Stars Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant and Valentine Dyall and starts when The Doctor and Peri board an alien craft which the TARDIS has materialised inside, and investigate time experimentation, and find out that unfortunately this is not to be the only dodgy activity going on…..

Exploration Earth
Tom Baker and Sarah Jane Smith star in this special BBC School Radio episode from 1976, In which The Doctor and Sarah witness the Earth’s development. But, as the Earth evolves from a mass of heat and gas, Megron the High Lord of Chaos has his own designs on our homeworld…..

Genesis of the Daleks
Tom Baker narrates an abridged audio version of the 1975 television adventure. In which The Doctor, Sarah and Harry are sent to Skaro, where crippled scientist Davros has created protective casings for the genetic mutations which his race is experiencing as a result of the 1,000-year war of attrition between the Kaleds and the Thals. I’ve also seen the six-part DVD of this story – It’s awesome!

Mission on the Unknown
This Doctor Who adventure from 1965, famously does not feature the Doctor himself, and has linking narration by Peter Purves. This prelude to The Daleks’ Master Plan, features Special Space Service Agent Marc Cory who must survive the vegetation on the planet Kembel in order to try and prevent the Daleks’ dodgy plans for galactic domination?

I promise I won’t laugh

Nurses are not supposed to laugh…
“Of course I won’t laugh,” said the nurse. “I’m a professional. In over twenty years I’ve never laughed at a patient.”

“Okay then,” said Fred, and he proceeded to drop his trousers, revealing the tiniest ‘man thingy’ the nurse had ever seen.. Length and width, it couldn’t have been bigger than the a AAA battery. Unable to control herself, the nurse started giggling, then fell to the floor laughing.

Ten minutes later she was able to struggle to her feet and regain her composure.
“I am so sorry,” she said. “I don’t know what came over me. On my honor as a nurse and a lady, I promise it won’t happen again. Now, tell me, what seems to be the problem?”

“It’s swollen,” Fred replied.

She ran out of the room…….

Irish Ghost Story

This story happened a while ago in Dublin , and even though
it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it’s true.

John Bradford, a Dublin University student, was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a big storm.
The night was rolling on and no car went by. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him.
Suddenly, he saw a car slowly coming towards him and stopped.

John , desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, got into the car and closed the door…. only to realize there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn’t on. The car started moving slowly. John looked at the road ahead and saw a curve approaching. Scared, he started to pray, begging for his life. Then, just before the car hit the curve, a hand appeared out of nowhere through the window, and turned the wheel. John , paralyzed with terror, watched as the hand came through the window, but never touched or harmed him.

Shortly thereafter, John saw the lights of a pub appear down the road, so, gathering strength; he jumped out of the car and ran to it. Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside and started telling everybody about the horrible experience he had just had.
A silence enveloped the pub when everybody realized he was crying… and wasn’t drunk.

Suddenly, the door opened, and two other people walked in from the dark and stormy night. They, like John , were also soaked and out of breath. Looking around, and seeing John Bradford sobbing at the bar, one said to the other….

Look Paddy….there’s that damned idiot that got in the car while we were pushing it!!!!’
