Happy Birthday Nicole Scherzinger

Today, 29th June, it is the birthday of Nicole Scherzinger (The incredibly hot lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls) so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to post some of her songs (Courtesy of YouTube). I was going to post them earlier but I got a little…er…”distracted” lol.

Kaiser Chiefs- The Future is Medieval

I have been listening to the Kaiser Chiefs new album “The Future is Medieval” and after the first few listens, I think it’s quite good, of course it’s going to take a few more listens before the tracks start growing on me like “Predict a Riot” and “Ruby” have, but it certainly has it’s moments. Anyway here is the track-listing for the album

*Long Way from Celebrating
*Starts with Nothing
*Out of Focus
*Dead or in Serious Trouble
*When all is Quiet
*Man on Mars

Glastonbury 2011 – Sunday line-up

Here are some of the acts performing at Glastonbury on Sunday 26th June. I would like to watch Paul Simon, having listened to his great new album “So Beautiful or So What” loads of times. Kaiser Chiefs have also got a new album coming out soon called “The Future is Medieval”, so I would also like to listen to them too. For me the highlights so far have been the performances by U2, Coldplay, The Chemical Brothers & Mumford & Sons

  • Beyonce
  • Paul Simon
  • Plan B
  • Pendulum
  • The Wombles
  • Kaiser Chiefs
  • Kool & the Gang
  • The Streets
  • Queens of the Stone Age

Listen carefully I shall say this only once

This year The Severn Valley Railway’s very popular 1940’s Weekend is taking place over the next two consecutive weekends  Saturday 25th/Sunday 26th June and Saturday 2ndJuly/Sunday 3rd July – and This year there will also be actors from the hit TV series “Allo Allo” attending the event.

I also watched The Supermarine Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight fly overhead at 4.00pm on Saturday – Awesome!

Lola Lamour will also be performing many well known 40’s songs, such as Vera Lynn’s “We’ll meet again” , throughout the weekend at Bridgnorth Station and there will also be a Brass Band  performing “Workers Play Time” concerts at Kidderminster Station.

There willl also be Professional actors walking round dressed in period costume (including “Spivs”) & Military Uniforms, and For anyone wishing to look the part, various outfits are on sale at a period clothing Stall in Bridgnorth.

In addition Various Military Vehicles, like Jeeps, Scout Cars, DUKWs and Tanks will also be on Display throughout the weekend at various locations, and The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will also be doing a fly-past down the valley.

An Actor playing Winston Churchill will also be giving a rousing speech at Bridgnorth Station and There will also be a Battle Re-enactment at Highley Station, which was very exciting when I saw it a few years ago. I’ve really enjoyed the many times I have been, there is a lovely atmosphere, although it is a bit surreal seeing German soldiers walking round town doing their shopping.
