Where did it all go wrong?

Riot police have recently been accused of adopting a hands-off approach when dealing with looters in England. However officers in Manchester, equipped with batons and shields were definitely not taking a softly-softly approach this time, they chased down and clobbered a group of suspected rioters, after shops in Manchester had been torched by thugs and had windows smashed.

A marauding gang of up to 200 youths, most of them masked or wearing hoodies, fought a running battle with police, kicking in windows of supermarkets, jewellery stores and mobile phone shops, not even Liam Gallagher’s clothes shop “Pretty Green” was safe from the yobs

Years of soft Labour Government seem to have produced a generation of amoral, uneducated, disenfranchised and welfare dependent people, who don’t seem to know the value of things or the difference between right and wrong and show contempt for manners and decency. They also lack education because they have no will to learn, and therefore lack skills which might make them employable and are too idle or have no will to accept low paid work or better themselves.

Not that this excuses them or that I am feeling sorry for them, what they did was wrong and they need to know that there are boundaries and consequences when you do something wrong. It’s not just young kids either, older people who should know better were also caught up in the trouble too.

They need incentives to behave decently, opportunities to get out of their squalid predicament and to learn that there are penalties for being badly behaved. Of course there are some idiots who have no intention of trying to improve their lives or behaving sensibly.

What I don’t understand is that some youngsters today have got things like XBoxes, Blackberry phones and all manner of gadgets and yet they are still not satisfied with what they’ve got,  they don’t seem to know the value of things and seem reluctant to actually work for them. Of course there are also young people who are prepared to work hard in order to reach their goals and achieve something positive in life, and it is unfair to group them in with these numpties-these people should be helped to get where they are going.

The Dark Knight Rises

I can hardly wait for the next Batman movie, having enjoyed the previous two films “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight”. I also enjoyed some previous Batman movies, such as Batman and Batman Returns starring Jack Nicholson as the Joker, Danny DeVito as the Penguin and Michelle Pfeifer as Catwoman.

However the ones with Tommy Lee Jones, Arnold Schwarzennegger, Jim Carrey, Halle Berry and Uma Thurman were completely ridiculous and totally stupid (althouth the themes by Seal and U2 were good)

Directed by Christopher Nolan, the final film in the Batman franchise “The Dark Knight Rises”, sees Christian Bale once again reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, ably supported by Morgan Freeman who will once again be playing Lucius Fox and Michael Caine who will be playing Alfred.

Glamour will be provided by Anne Hathaway who will be playing Catwoman/ Selina Kyle, who will be wearing a Black Leather Catsuit and a pair of goggles, which look more functional and less sexy than in previous Batman Movies. She also be riding a motorbike similar to the Batpod.

More glamour will also be provided by Marion Cotillard, who stars as Miranda Tate, an ally of Bruce Wayne’s who works on the board of Wayne Enterprises. The Film is set to be released in July 2012.

State of the Nation

Last night saw more trouble in England as more gangs of Youths wandered the streets committing violent crime, looting and pillaging shops, and The trouble has now spread to Liecester, West Bromwich, Gloucester, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham and Wolverhampton, I have never seen anything like it, I remember the Toxteth and Handsworth riots, but they were actually protesting about something, and it didn’t spread.

There seems to be no apparent reason for The present trouble – It just seems to have carried on because a lot of Directionless, bored youngsters on Summer Holiday, wanted something to do, and have been allowed to run amok without any Parental Control and without any concept of right and wrong and have been encouraged by older trouble-makers to go mad .

The Police budget being cut by the present Government thanks to The previous Labour Government’s reckless over-spending has not helped matters either, the Police are doing what they can with the limited resources they have, but unsurprisingly it is not enough.

Political Correctness has gone too far, meaning that the law cannot get tough with these youngsters for fear of infringing their rights and being prosecuted (What about the rights of ordinary decent hard-working folk who are just trying to protect themselves and earn a living?)
