Red Hot Chili Peppers – I’m With You

I am a big fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers funk inspired rock sound and I am really looking forward to hearing the new album “I’m With You”. It is released August 30th 2011, and has got fourteen tracks on it, among them are:

* Monarchy of Roses
* Ethiopia
* Look Around
* Even You Brutus
* Did I let You Know
* Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie
* I’m With You

I’m not sure I like the Album cover Design by Damien Hirst,  I’m all for having a clean, simple iconic design, such as the prism on  “Dark side of the Moon”, the Baby swimming on “Nevermind” or the banana on the front of “Velvet Underground and Nico”, I don’t think this is quite iconic enough, on the other hand I reckon just the RHCP logo on a plain white background works wonderfully. I still would like to get the album though 😀 I bet it rocks!

Roots – The best of Show of Hands

As well as The Imagined Village I have also been listening to folk group Show of Hands recently. I remember seeing them at a local Folk Festival years ago, and they were very good. They are also playing at this years Shrewsbury Folk Festival alongside  Bellowhead, The Imagined Village, Cara Dillon and many others. Should be great fun 😀
