Happy Mondays star Bez is to appear at a music festival at a pub in Shrewsbury this weekend. The dancer and noted maracas shaker will headline The Brooklands beer and music festival at the Mill Road pub in Meole Brace on Saturday, he will be with DJ Vince Vega and gets the crowd going with his maracas and sings and chants over the songs,”
the festival iss being held to offer something different to people in Meole Brace and is about trying to give the locals something back. In the daytime, we have face-painting for kids and, fingers crossed with the weather, we will have fairground rides.vBands such as The Clocktower, Andy O’Brien and The Taste will alsobe performing.
Money raised will go towards Hope House, with entry to a beer and band tent in the day costing £5, and a ticket to the evening’s entertainment after 9pm priced the same. Bez, whose real name is Mark Berry, also won Celebrity Big Brother in 2005.
To celebrate her Diamond Jubilee and 60 Glorious Years of service, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and His Royal Highness Prince Philip will be visiting RAF Cosford on Thursday July 12th 2012 to attend the spectacular Shropshire Diamond Jubilee Pageant which will highlight the “Brightest and Best” of the County’s industrial, commercial and agricultural expertise, together with entertainment and fun for all the family.
There will be activities taking place throughout the day, commencing from 9am and the pageant performance at the award winning Royal Air Force Museum will commences at 1.40pm during which 5,000 school children together with numerous business, voluntary and charity organisations will display their artistic and musical talents in a Parade which will move through the crowds
The event will also be attended by Dignitaries such as The Lord-Lieutenant for Shropshire, the Chairman of Shropshire Council and the Mayor of Telford & Wrekin. and is sure to be a day to remember with 30,000+ people expected to attend, making it one of the largest events in Shropshire this year and it will be a unique opportunity for people to be part of what is being billed as Shropshire’s Show of the Decade .
