I have recently watched the thrilling and explosive 2015 high-octane film Mad Max Fury Road . It is set in a future where a nuclear holocaust, has turned the world into a desert wasteland and civilization has collapsed. It follows Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), a survivor, who is captured by the War Boys, the army of the tyrannical cult leader Immortan Joe, and taken to Joe’s Citadel. Where Max is imprisoned and used as a “blood bag” for a sick War Boy called Nux (Nicholas Hoult).
Meanwhile, Imperator Furiosa, (Charlize Theron) one of Joe’s lieutenants, is sent in her armored semi-truck, the “War Rig”, to collect gasoline. But she has other ideas, and intends to head to the safety of the mythical and idyllic Green Place instead with Imorton Joe’s five wives – Capable, Cheedo, Toast, the Dag and Angharad. However Joe realises that they are missing and leads his entire army in pursuit of Furiosa, calling on the aid of nearby Gas Town and the Bullet Farm.
So Max and Nux join forces with Imperator Furiosa and undertake a hazardous journey through enemy territory, where they encounter rival Biker gangs and the The Bullet Farmers. Luckily they are aided by The Vuvalini Clan who inform them that The Green Place is now uninhabitable. So they decide to journey across immense salt flats to find a new home. However Max convinces them to return to the undefended Citadel, which has ample water and greenery which Imorton Joe keeps for himself, while keeping the population impoverished. So they journey back to the citadel, but are attacked by Imorton Joe, Rictus Erectus and all the other War Boys and all hell breaks loose as Max, Furiosa, Nux and the Vuvalini try and defeat Imorton Joe and the War Boys in a high octane explosive showdown.
Mad Max Fury Road was directed and produced by George Miller, and written by Miller, Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris. The film also features Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Riley Keough, Zoë Kravitz, Abbey Lee, and Courtney Eaton.
