I would like to watch the upcoming science fiction horror film Life. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson and Ryan Reynolds. It is directed by Daniel Espinosa, produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
It features Six astronauts aboard the International space station (Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, Ryan Reynolds) who are on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. The crew performs a successful capture of a space probe returning from Mars with a sample inside. The crew is tasked with studying the sample, which may be the first proof of extraterrestrial life on the Red Planet. The crew discover that the sample contains a large, single-celled organism – the first example of life beyond Earth.
However As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences, and the rapidly evolving life-form proves more intelligent and far more terrifying than anyone could have possibly imagined. Trapped aboard the ISS with the rapidly-growing organism, the crew must find out how to kill it and stop it arriving on Earth before it manages to kill them and reach Earth with potentially devastating results.
I can’t help feeling that Life sounds suspiciously like a number of other science fiction films such as Alien. It also has a number of familiar Science-fiction tropes, so it will be interesting to see how it compares with other movies.
