This blog is about the things I have been doing, films I have seen, books I have read, DVDs I have watched, music I have heard, places I’ve been, and events that are happening, which are of interest to me. Since I started this blog my circumstances have changed and I have become interested in new subjects and less interested in others.

Some of the Films I like are Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Comedies, Indiana Jones type films, anything with monsters in, Exciting Films, superhero movies and Classic Films. I also like to read thrillers, crime fiction, Historical Fiction & Exciting stories . Favourite authors include Terry Pratchett, JRR Tolkien, John LeCarre, Ian Fleming, CJ Sansome, Ian Rankin, Ken Follett and Philippa Gregory.

I am intersted in Steam Locomotives as I live not far from a heritage line – I went down to the station one day on the off chance, and found it absolutely fascinating, plus the engines themselves are wonderful  (I saw A4 Union of South Africa and I was instantly hooked lol)  the people are very nice down there too – it’s a lovely atmosphere when there is an event on too. As I have got older I have also developed in interest in history and the local industrial heritage(of which, I have found, there is plenty). I am also quite artistic and appreciate many art forms from Pop art to renaissance art.

I like all sorts of music from Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones & The Beatles to rock like Yes, Led Zeppellin, Pink Floyd to 80’s stuff like New Order, Duran Duran to dance music like Orbital and The Chemical Brothers and modernish stuff like Oasis and Florence & the Machine. I also like folk music like Seth Lakeman, The Bad Shepherds, Bellowhead and Mumford & Sons. I have also started listening to audio books.
